Remove your vehicle’s license plates. You can either return them to Service Ontario and get credit for the remaining months, or install them on a new vehicle.

The package also includes a vehicle history report, which covers details such as accident reports and past ownership records.
The package will be given to you by the seller when you purchase a used car from them. It is important to read through this information before you buy a car to make sure that there are no hidden surprises.
Can an individual sell their vehicle privately in Ontario without a used vehicle information package?
In Ontario, if you are selling a vehicle privately, you are required to provide the purchaser with a used vehicle information package. The package includes a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), odometer reading, and other information about the vehicle.
As of March 1st 2017, there is no longer any requirement for an individual to provide this information when selling their own vehicle privately.
